Weapon Proficiency in MW3 is a new weapon customization system that will enable players to modify and level up their weapon while they level up their character. Proficiency is an extra perk that will go along your primary weapon. They may be unlocked just like attachments. While you gain levels and take care of challenges using your primary weapon, you are going to unlock new proficiencies for that weapon.
In the past, COD has found different methods to slowly unlock the different components and attachments on your weapons, but in MW3 your proficiencies with weapons will level up with a per-weapon basis. The more often you utilize a gun, the more you can do with it, opening up options such as faster reload or less kick on that weapon.
“We want Modern Warfare 3 to be about the player, his gun, and his skill,” says Activision, “not relying on air support to be a replacement for his ability to get kills.”
Please find below the complete list of MW3 proficiencies:
- Kick - Reduced recoil
- Range - Increased range
- Attachments - Equip 2 attachments to the weapon
- Focus - Reduced flinch when shot
- Melee - Faster melee
- Stability - Reduced sway
- Impact - Great bullet penetration through walls
- Speed - Faster movement w/ weapon equipped
- Damage - Shells do more damage (Shotgun only)
