Activision and Infinity Ward do their very best to prevent people from cheating with the risk of bans along with other punishment in Modern Warfare 3. A brand new post breaks down a number of bannable offenses and what types of punishment you may get.
The full guidelines have been openly shared by Infinity Ward, and concentrate on the six actions you can take that may result in a ban: boosting, cheating, glitching, hacking, offensive behavior as well as an offensive gamertag. The post, on the game’s official community site, breaks down several different ways players may get banned, and then describes the punishment for violating those rules.
Boosting - Any player demonstrating ‘game abuse’ in the form of organizing cooperative or single game play for the purpose of gaining experience, prestige, score, weapon levels, icons, titles or other related in-game unlocks.
( i ) First Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 48 hours and a stats reset.
(ii) Second Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 48 hours and a stats reset, and a permanent ban from leaderboards.
(iii) Third Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 7 days and a stats reset, and a permanent ban from leaderboards.
Cheating - Any player demonstrating ‘game abuse’ in the form of unknown boosting, glitching, hacking or other related offenses for the purpose of gaining experience, prestige, score, weapon levels, icons, titles or other related in-game unlocks.
( i ) First Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 48 hours and a stats reset.
(ii) Second Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 48 hours and a stats reset, and a permanent ban from leaderboards.

Glitching - Any player demonstrating ‘game abuse’ in the form of organizing cooperative or single game play for the purpose of gaining experience, prestige, score, weapon levels, icons, titles or other related in-game unlocks. Examples: Exploiting map holes, the javelin glitch, and participating in modded lobbies

serious? nobody cares about this guidelines… max 7 day ban 4 cheating? WHAT THE HELL? cheating once should result in perm game ban omg! the cheaters dont care about some ban from leaderboard they just keep ruining the game with ragehacks…
You are all a bunch of cry babies… wah! U hate the game cause u suck at it! Admit that… losers!
you need a web site to report the names of hackerscheaters like these 2 i found head shot n and get moabs there names are JORDY210 and X_shortboyownz_x they need to be band NOW and no one will do it they have ben reported a lot and nothing has ben done about it plz help
Rox E bro, these people dont suck, maybe they do, but hey probably dont. You support hackers because you either are one or just a sik person.
ban the lot of cheating gits forever
It was a great game for a few weeks after getting it for a Christmas gift, then a slew of hackers entered. Now 2 out of 3 games have at least 1 hacker. The current system for dealing with them is so ineffective that players will boldly and defiantly tell you that they are hacking. It is clear that neither IW or Steam can police it effectively with so many players and games. There are just too many of them. Why would they want to be the game police any way? it is obvious that the only thing that does work is allowing players manage this themselves with friendly fire, dedicated servers with clan admins, or kick voting. I'v given up the game and have gone back to COD Black Ops where the players police it. And, I tell anyone who shows interest in MW3 that it is just too frustrating with all the hacking going on, additionally, to never buy a game that does not have at least one player self-management feature like dedicated servers with admins, or friendly fire, or a vote kick. It was a great game, but, unfortunately, it's now a hackers paradise.
I specifically buoght the Elite Package to get the 2 hours dbl xp. I AM NOT GETTING IT. I COULD HAVE JUST BOUGHT THE MAPS. UNSATISFIYED. FIX IT
My guy friend got it & was very diapspointed he beat it pretty fast but was also frustrated by the shortness & lots of bugs so he’s gone back back to playing Call of duty Modern warfare & Medal of Honor that just came out. He got me hooked on them too. Great stress relief . Any Halo is not worth the money so you aren’t missing anything. The flow is just better in my opinion with MOW. There is a graphic setting so you dont have to have lots of blood & the one or two missions that are a bit much can be skipped without ruining the story though I will say that the story can be captivating and several unexpected twists can leave you a bit more emotional then you would expect. Was this answer helpful?
i wonder how lag comp has figured in to this i bet alot have people have been reported as cheaters because of it
Doing their very best….aka…nothing at all…at least one hacker in nearly every lobby now on xbox 360
The hackers have ruined mw3. You can't tell me that they can't do something about it. It's just way too easy to find these hackers online, and during game play. Anyone caught hacking their system should have there xbox wiped, and account banned. What is the point of playing a game if you have to cheat? If you don't want to play fairly, you shouldn't be allowed to play with with people who do…
