Are you pleased with the settings of Modern Warfare 3 for your PC? In case you’re looking for some considerable adjusting, it’s possible to make modifications in the Modern Warfare 3 Config files.
Experiment with the values below to obtain the best overall performance for singleplayer and multiplayer for even slightly older computer systems.
Configuration Files
- Most typical graphical options can be modified in-game with the options menu for the PC version of MW3. If you’re not pleased with MW3′s overall performance, then you may tweak the config files for greater performance.
- To find these file open the folder where you have installed the game for example: C:Program FilesSteamsteamappscommoncall of duty modern warfare 3players2
- The relevant files are [config.cfg] and [config_mp.cfg] with values for singleplayer and multiplayer respectively. Open the files in Notepad, and you can start changing values.
- Save the file when you’re done, and make sure it overwrites the previous version in the same folder. If you create problems with your fine-tuning, simply save the original files in a different location as back-up.

To use this setting, you’ll have to turn off depth of field in the main settings. This entry will let you tweak it more precisely that the in-game options menu. 0 is the default, ‘1’ sets it to ‘world’ meaning only objects in the background are blurred. ‘2’ will enable depth of field in the foreground and background.

This sets the number of light flashes on screen at once. Reduce it if you’re prone to migraines, or to improve performance.
Anisotropic settings

Maximum and minimum anisotropic settings – set the former to ‘8’ for maximum performance, but keep in mind that this may possibly effect your frame rates.
