Treyarch has confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will support ranked dedicated servers for PC. They have been just about the most asked feature from PC gamers in the Call of Duty franchise.
Treyarch’s director of technology, Cesar Stastny, revealed the news via Twitter.
Confirmed: Ranked Dedicated Servers for #BlackOps2

Dedicated server support was taken out of the series with MW2 and even though it was reintroduced with the initial Black Ops , Modern Warfare 3 only provided them as “unranked”, and therefore playtime in them didn’t contribute to your overall progress, which left them mostly empty.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is going to be launched for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on November 13. Make sure to visit our Black Ops 2 news section for all the latest details.
