Activision has published its latest financial results, unveiling some impressive Call of Duty statistics. Gamers already have recorded 1.6 billion hours online with Modern Warfare 3 and in addition the Call of Duty franchise has somewhere around 40 million monthly active users.
Furthermore, Activision has confirmed that the Call of Duty: Elite service has reached 10 million registered users, with 2 million of these as paying premium Elite members. With the recently announced Black Ops 2 that is already breaking pre-order sales records of previous Call of Duty titles, we can only imagine what their figures will be for the coming year.
Please find below some of the highlights from the Q1 of 2012 Activision fiscal results:
- As of March 31, 2012, the Call of Duty franchise had approximately 40 million monthly active users
- Players have logged more than 1.6 billion hours of online gameplay of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 through March 31, 2012
- As of April 30, 2012, more than 10 million gamers have registered for Call of Duty Elite, including more than two million premium annual memberships the company has sold for the online service
- For the first quarter, Activision Blizzard had two top-10 PC titles in North America and Europe with Activision Publishing’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Blizzard Entertainment’s StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty
- Activision Blizzard managed to gain $1.17 billion worth of revenue
