It’s official, the first day pre-orders for Black Ops II have topped the first day pre-orders both for MW3 as well as the original Black Ops.
Amazon has stated that day one pre-orders for Black Ops II are 10 times the pre-order levels of the initial Black Ops on its first day of availableness. Additionally, pre-orders also are 30 % greater than Modern Warfare 3‘s first day pre-order numbers.
“Pre-orders from day one of Black Ops 2 were more than ten times the amount of pre-orders for the first Black Ops on its first day of availability” Amazon US told Joystiq.
Having this kind of momentum after the previous game’s record setting sale numbers back in 2010, there’s little doubt that Black Ops 2 is going to set a new sales record for the Call of Duty franchise.
Modern Warfare 3 proceeded to gross over $775 million globally in 5 days, officially becoming the greatest entrainment launch of all time, soaring past Black Ops’ $650 million record as well as the $550 million record before it, established by Modern Warfare 2.
