Following the recent confirmation of the Zombies mode in Black Ops 2, now we have some new details about it. First off, Treyarch’s Mark Lamia has revealed that the Zombies mode is now being run on the game’s multiplayer engine. This might not seem like a major improvement, however it definitely will enable much more option for the developers at Treyarch.
“They want bigger maps” Lamia told Playstation Magazine. “They want even more interesting things to do inside these levels. So we are crafting new worlds, creating new game modes and bigger worlds.” “We’ve actually put [zombies] inside of our multiplayer engine and it’s capable of doing twice as many zombies, twice as many co-op players.”
This pretty much confirms that will have an 8 player co-op Zombie mode with some new game modes and bigger maps all due to the change of running Zombies on the game’s multiplayer engine.
Additionally we got the first art work of the new Zombies mode, which you may find below. This image will in addition appear on one side of the two-sided poster you will get when pre-ordering the game from GameStop as detailed recently.

I dont think they have confirmed the 8 way co-op zombie mode, the game's director simply stated that the multiplayer engine could handle 'twice as many zombies, twice as many players' in much larger maps.
