With thanks to the people today at Target and IGN we can now validate that Call of Duty 9 will be named Black Ops 2. Pre-order cards that have been shipped to Target stores today, pictured below, established the name as well as the release date of November 13.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has seen a great deal of speculation during the past few weeks caused by a recent retail leak in addition to the slowly updating teaser website rolling out clues concerning the next Call of Duty title.

The game has not yet been revealed by publishers Activision, however it’s scheduled to be introduced for the very first time during the NBA playoffs on the 1st of May.
